SJW's mission is to create an environment that is conducive to learning, experiencing, and appreciating jazz - a community created by bringing the best performers and teachers of jazz together with listeners and students of all abilities and backgrounds. A key to our success has been to bring world-renowned professional musicians to the Bay Area for one to three weeks each summer, enabling them to develop relationships with locally based students, audiences, and fellow artists.
