National Association for Children of Alcoholics, founded in 1982, is dedicated to responding to the needs of young children experiencing a broad constellation of problems in families with parental alcoholism and drug dependencies. NACoA's goals are to raise public awareness, provide leadership in public policy, inform and educate academic and other community systems, advocate for appropriate education and prevention services, facilitate the exchange of information and resources, initiate and advance professional knowledge and understanding, and to advocate for accessible programs and services.
