K-9 Search and Rescue of South Florida, Inc. dba K-9 and Mounted Search and Rescue of South Florida was founded in 1994. A need arose at that time for competent search dog teams in the State of Florida. Due to the constant onslaught of major hurricanes, storms, tornadoes and missing persons (homicides, mentally disabled, elderly, runaways, etc) we diversified our organization to include a mounted patrol of horse SAR teams to assist more proficiently since Florida contains dense woods that is difficult to navigate. Due to our hard work and commitment to the State our organization has been honored as being a District Representative for our region.
