The Mission of the Independent Institute is to be the major non-partisan intellectual influence on the formation of public policy, contributing substantially to an ongoing reexamination of the core assumptions underlying economic, political and cultural life and how liberty, peace, and entrepreneurship contribute to civil society. The Institute seeks to push at the frontiers of our knowledge, redefine the debate over public issues, and foster new and effective directions for government reform.
