Hispanic Unity of Florida?s (HUF) mission is: Empowering Hispanics and other members of the community to become self-sufficient and lead productive lives. Founded 25 years ago in 1982 by community leaders to ease the acculturation transition of newcomers from other nations, HUF?s primary purpose remains providing skills, contacts and other tools to build a new life. Now Broward County?s largest 501(c) 3 dedicated to the immigrant population, HUF serves 20,000+ individuals per year (from over 30 countries). HUF operates over 20 core programs/services from 8 sites around the county, helping newcomers of all ages ? toddlers through seniors.
