CAR was founded with a vision to bring Chinese medicine to people who ordinarily would not be able to access it, or even, in many cases, ever be exposed to it at all. Consequently, we consider our work educative nearly as much as medical. Our wide experience in public health includes working in both in-patient and out-patient drug treatment, in the prison system, in public medical facilities, and in adult daycare programs. We are unique in offering acupuncture and Oriental medicine in many aspects of public health, including substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, acute and chronic pain, and homelessness.
