Evergreen Freedom Foundation (360)956-3482 PO Box 552 Olympia, WA 98507 website: http://effwa@effwa.org Our Mission The mission of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation is to advance individual liberty, free enterprise and responsible government. Our efforts center around providing public policy research and alternatives in the following foundational areas: state budget and tax policies; welfare, health care and education reform; and citizenship and governance issues. Governing Principles The staff and board of EFF seeks to eliminate the desire for dependence on government that has permeated our culture. The possession of liberty requires some risk. Benjamin Franklin said, They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. We agree. Therefore, because a freedom-loving people must understand the principles from which freedom is derived, EFF?s objective is to disseminate those truths and motivate the citizenry to act upon them. - Responsible self governance is the cornerstone of a free society. With rights come responsibilities, with freedoms come obligations. - Government must protect and cherish the constitutional and inalienable rights, freedoms, initiatives, and liberties of the individual. - Our government is, and must be, constitutionally limited in scope and authority to that which the citizenry cannot do best by themselves. - Our government?s regulatory functions must be minimal and firmly rooted in constitutional authority. - In all matters, government is to be accountable to the people. The Evergreen Freedom Foundation neither solicits nor accepts funds from public sources. All programs and activities are funded by private donations and grants. Our support comes from thousands of concerned individuals and numerous private foundations. The Evergreen Freedom Foundation exists to serve the people of Washington State in accordance with the spirit of the Revised Code of Washington, section 42.17.251, adopted in 1992: The people of this state do not yield their sovereignty to the agencies that serve them. The people, in delegating authority, do not give their public servants the right to decide what is good for the people to know and what is not good for them to know. The people insist on remaining informed so that they may maintain control over the instruments they have created. | ||
