IMA was founded in 1983 and in 1992, IMA saw a great need in Guatemala City among the girls living on the streets selling their bodies through prostitution, having babies or aborting, sniffing glue, etc. IMA opened their doors to such girls by offering an educational school, providing nutritional meals, health care, personal hygiene, spiritual guidance, good morals and skills for job apportunities.

To promote self-sufficiency while aiding children and families succeed by providing legal forms and assistance to indigent civil litigants who are struggling with domestic violence, child custody/support, landlord/tenant and consumer/debtors and other similar civil legal problems. The principal way of doing this shall be to train and organize a body of volunteer attorneys willing to aid indigent persons and families who cannot otherwise afford an attorney in civil legal matters.
