Little Brothers was founded in post-WWII France in response to the poverty and isolation suffered by many elders stripped of everything by the war. Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly is a nonprofit, non-sectarian, volunteer based organization. We believe strongly that our philosophy of feeding the soul as well as the body, which is the building block for all of our programs, promotes both the physical and mental health of the elderly served, enabling them to remain independent and to avoid costly and impersonal institutional alternatives. We offer volunteers the opportunity to join with the elderly in the celebration of life.
