Daughter For The Day volunteers are able to provide a myriad of services to our seniors. From reading mail, to accompanying seniors on doctor visits, to helping seniors complete and file insurance forms, our services are many and varied. One of the main services we provide is the ability to help with the running of errands; the various outings that most people take for granted, but that can become challenging to people in their golden years. These outings, to the grocery store or to the shopping mall, obviously provide the direct benefit of allowing the senior to accomplish whatever errand needs to be accomplished. However, we also encourage and expect our Daughters to take advantage of the time spent with our clients to establish personal relationships above and beyond the scope of the task at hand. It is within our purview to stop for tea or for lunch on the way home, or to otherwise design an outing in such a fashion, as to encourage and facilitate personal interactions. We encourage the senior to view the running of an errand as an opportunity to "get out of the house" and spend a little quality time with someone whom they will come to view in much the same way as they would view a close friend or a daughter.
