Community Service Programs of West Alabama, Inc. (CSP), founded in 1967 to help people move out of poverty, utilizes public and private resources to develop and administer various social service, education, affordable housing and economic development programs for its constituency and encourages participation from other organizations through membership in coalitions and partnerships. CSPs chief tools in the execution of its mission include: 1. providing direct financial assistance to those in need; 2. administering pre-school education, child care management, job development, affordable housing, energy assistance, early intervention service, drug prevention services, social services and economic development programs to enhance the opportunities and quality of life for low-income people; 3. coordinating services and activities among area organizations to address the various needs of low-income people in a comprehensive and holistic manner.
