(CCCS) is a nonprofit, community service agency which provides free, confidential budget counseling, community-wide education programs in money management, debt management programs for consumers who are overextended and comprehensive housing counseling. Serving north Georgia since 1964 and Palm Beach County and The Treasure Coast of Florida since 1975, CCCS was founded by the local business community to educate consumers about money management, promote the wise use of credit as a tool for financial planning, and assist individuals and families in overcoming financial difficulties. CCCS is governed by a diverse community-based Board of Directors representative of the communities served. CCCS is proud of its reputation as a venue of trust for consumers seeking answers for credit and housing concerns. We maintain accreditation through the Council on Accreditation for Family and Children?s Services and we are a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. These services cause a reduction in consumption which in turn reduces utility bills and provides the homeowner with more discretionary income. Our search dogs can find living or dead: Persons lost in the woods or parks, people who have wandered away from homes, hospitals or nursing homes, hikers and hunters lost in the woods, victims of drowning accidents, victims of earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, explosions, fire and plane crashes. They can also locate evidence of at a crime scene and bodies of homicide victims. Our K-9?s are not just working dogs; they are members of our families and live in our homes. | ||

In March 1998, the GPEF Foundation board elected to host the Cherry Blossom Health Fair that was open to the public at no cost. Nineteen health screenings were offered and two noted physicians spoke on osteoporosis and aids during the day to educate the public on these diseases. The Cherry Blossom Health Fair was repeated again in 1999 with approximately 4,000 attending for the health screenings. This health fair will be repeated in March 2000 with additional screenings added and GPEF will also sponsor a medical lecture series during this time with a different topic being discussed each night by a notable physician to educate the general public. In 1999, GPEF has partnered with the Bibb County Health to provide free influenza and pneumovax immunizations to local senior citizens. We have begun to work with other organizations to begin to assist with problems of domestic violence and hunger to provide support and prevention programs for struggling individuals and their families. | ||
