The Cultural Alliance was organized to fulfill the art and cultural needs of our region as identified by a series of focus groups conducted in 2002. These focus groups resulted in a Cultural Master Plan being written as a guide for the Cultural Alliance. The Cultural Alliance promotes collaboration between arts and cultural organizations in our region; provides technical assistance workshops; provides marketing opportunities; is an advocate for the art and cultural sector; grants to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and much more.

In the Tennessee Valley there are approximately 25,000 families without the benefit of health insurance. With the rising costs of healthcare, many families find it impossible to see a physician. The Community Free Clinic, the first and only free clinic in Alabama, was established to provide excellent free medical care to those who have other option. Open for acute physical problems on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, we also operate a Chronic Care Clinic on Wednesdays, providing education, monitoring and treatment for hypertension, diabetes and chronic lung diseases such as Asthma.
